We believe it is important to help the hard of hearing community and are committed to doing so both in the UK and around the World.
Through our range of flagship projects we hope to make an important difference to the lives of people with hearing problems.
Over many years we have supported a range of initiatives including those in Africa and other developing regions – through the Sound Seekers’ HARK project, Kinder 1000 and Enfants du Cambodage – all of whom regularly benefit from our donations of hearing aid batteries and accessories.
We’re also proud supporter of the Hearing Dogs charity in the UK and are working closely with Germany’s biggest hearing charity the Deutshcen Schwerhorigenbundes (DSB), amongst many others.

- > Hearing Dogs For Deaf People Hearing dogs change lives. They alert their deaf owners to sounds we take for granted, providing greater independence, confidence and security. Most are selected from rescue centres or donated as unwanted pets.
As of September 2011, Rayovac have donated £13, 000 to the organisation
Rayovac support Hearing Dogs by means of:

- Spreading information about the charity
- Fund raising
- Public relations events
- Each year Rayovac hope to raise enough money to fund the training of one hearing dog

- > Sound SeakersSound Seekers provide specialist equipment, training and support to work to improve the lives of deaf children and children suffering from ear disease in developing countries of the Commonwealth. Their important work involves setting up “HARK!” mobile clinics to diagnose and treat hearing problems.
Rayovac support Sound Seekers by giving battery donations and promoting Sound Seekers through PR. Further details are available at www.sound-seekers.org.uk.
- > DSB GermanyThe DSB is one of the biggest and strongest associations for deaf people in Germany.
For over 100 years they have helped deaf people with their hearing needs as well as represent their social, medical, technical and legal interests. Rayovac is proud to have a strong commitment with the DSB and donates money for every ProLine battery sold in Germany to support their work.
As of September 2011 Rayovac have donated €26,800 to the organisation
- > Kinder 1000Rayovac is lending a helping hand to the ‘1000 Kinder’ project set up by Germany’s Round Table to help disadvantaged young people in the city of Odessa by donating nearly 100,000 hearing aid batteries.
1000 Kinder is backed by world champion boxer Wladimir Klitschko and German politician Kristina Schroeder and aims to improve the hearing and sight of 1,000 of Odessa’s young people by delivering hearing aids and glasses.
Rayovac have supported this initiative by providing hearing aid batteries for use with the aids.

- > T-oigoRayovac support the Spanish charity, t-oigo, which helps to raise awareness and provide a support and service for families with members suffering from hearing loss.
Rayovac have worked closely with the charity for many years and are proud to continue to support them.

- > EFFETAH - CambodiaLes Enfants sourds du Cambodge, which has been helping children in Cambodia since 2001, has just completes missions to the country with the support of Amplifon and Rayovac.
Its latest mission to the country – which took place in January 2011 – saw a team of 12 hearing experts spend a number of weeks fitting 500 deprived children with hearing aids. To assist with the effort, Rayovac shipped over 1,000 packs of size 13 and size 675 batteries which are now being used in the hearing aids fitted by the charity and are making a major difference to the lives of children in Cambodia.
- > The Hong Kong Society for the DeafThe organisation was founded in 1968, aiming to promote the well being of the hearing impaired and seeks to ensure equalization of opportunities for hearing impaired persons.
Rayovac have recently donated a selection of hearing aid batteries to the organisation.
